No Season but the Summer

My mother's time is in spring and summer, while my husband's time is in autumn and winter. What is left for me? Persephone spends six months underground with her husband, the king of the dead, and six months on earth with her mother, the goddess of the harvest. This arrangement has been in place for nine thousand years since the deal was made. However, when she resurfaces in the spring, she notices something different. The land is being lashed by rains, crops are growing out of season or not at all, and there are people attempting to build a road through the woods, which her mother seems unable to stop.
